So many things demand our attention these days that it is often not possible to look carefully enough at what we are seeing. Many of the things that we see or hear may have something important to 'say' to us that are not clear when we only give them a quick glance.
New discoveries are being made by scientists every day, some of which are truly amazing! Whether it's new insights into the tremendous complexity of life, or detailed pictures of previously unseen parts of the universe, each discovery tells us more about the amazing world in which we live.
But we have a problem. All too often these discoveries fail to have the impact upon us that they should, simply because we think too little about what they tell us. And by relying on others to draw conclusions for us, we sometimes get 'the wrong message' about what's been discovered.
'Signs & Wonders' will highlight a few of the interesting things going on in the scientific and natural world, to see what they might tell us about the God who created this world "in the beginning".
The Bible is not a scientific textbook, but it often throws light on issues relating to our world, helping us to appreciate the true significance of new discoveries.
Wonderful things are constantly being discovered about the world we live in. Sometimes, new discoveries are a sign to us all that this world was created for a purpose and that God is still in control.
As you read these articles, draw your own conclusions. Make sure you look carefully for evidence that proves the statement made at the start of the Bible...
"in the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth"
(Gen.1v1)
...so that you can be sure the Bible's closing words, spoken by Jesus Christ himself, are true as well:
"Surely, I come quickly"
(Rev.22v20)
