A better perspective on
Life
using the Bible
A series of free 45-minute seminars
at the Bourne Hall, Ewell, Surrey |
Think of the last ten years. Good times and bad: boom and bust; more freedom but, for many, more fear; higher living standards but, for some, financial ruin; floods in some parts of the world – drought in others. Few things are more stressful than uncertainty.
So we turn to many things for guidance: friends, self-help books, the internet.
Some of us even look for professional help – life coaches are always keen to tell us how to be happier.
These seminars will be different. For a start, they won’t cost you a thing. They’ll present the timeless advice and wisdom of the Bible rather than the ever-changing theories of human philosophy.
You’ll find it amazing how the Bible provides an age-old, yet up to date, perspective on the challenges of everyday life.
Even if you don’t believe in God or that the Bible is God’s Word, come along and listen to the practical advice the Bible gives and decide for yourself if it makes sense.
We will show you Bible teaching that can really help you deal with the pressures of living in today’s world.
Come along for a better perspective on…
Seminar 1 – Monday 12th April
The Credit Crunch
Increasing prices, falling investment values, too much debt, rising unemployment. It’s not really new ...and the Bible has practical advice on it all.
Seminar 2 – Monday 19th April
Coping with Family Life
We live in an age when moral standards appear to have collapsed. Immorality is accepted. Broken homes are the norm. The Bible gives advice to families and how they can stay together.
Seminar 3 – Monday 26th April
Floods and Adverse Weather
The devastating effects of extreme weather are very rare in the UK but around the world we see an increase in natural disasters. What does the Bible say about such events? What does the future hold?
Seminar 4 – Monday 10th May
Depression, Stress, Disease
In our modern lives we experience a great deal of stress, work long hours and consequently may suffer illness. The Bible can help you put your life in perspective.
Seminar 5 – Monday 17th May
The Breakdown of Law and Order
Are you concerned about the levels of crime and violence in today’s world? This session explores Bible teaching concerning these problems and explores the solutions that God offers in His Word.
A set of Seminar notes and a helpful booklet covering some of these topics will be given to all those who attend. Free literature and BibleReading Plans will be available to help with further Bible study.
Objective
The objective of the seminars is simple. It is to try to convince you that the Bible is relevant and true.
Our belief is simple: the Bible makes sense. We hope that if we can demonstrate this, you may be more encouraged to read it and find out more about what it says. Our objective is not to tell you what to believe but it is to show you the Bible’s advice for living in today’s world.
The seminars will be led by everyday people with everyday concerns: bringing up the kids, holding down a job, paying the bills.
We have become convinced that the Bible can help in our lives. Whether you currently believe in the Bible or not, our speakers will be informative and helpful.
These seminars are free, practical, and will give you a set of principles for daily life – not from us but from the oldest book on the planet: The Bible.
